Natura Artis Magistra / Natuur als meester van de kunst / Nature as master of art

Momenteel word ik geinspireerd door spiegelende wateroppervlakken van vijvers en vennen, waardoor een nieuwe serie schilderijen “waterlandschappen”  is ontstaan.  Het bijzondere is dat de reflectie van licht, schaduwen en kleuren in het water een nieuw surrealistisch landschap creëert met verschillende dieptelagen  waarin bladeren, stengels en bloemen in en op het wateroppervlak zweven. De natuur gezien van dichtbij vertaald  in een nieuw geschilderde werkelijkheid, waarin ik de juiste balans probeer te vinden tussen abstracte en realistische elementen en de details in de schilderijen tastbaar aanwezig zijn.

At the moment I am inspired by reflections on the surfaces of ponds and I made a number of  new paintings “Waterlandscapes”.  Especially the reflections of light, shadows and colours  in the water creates a new surreal landscape with several layers of depth with leaves and flowers floating in  the water. In my new paintings I achieve for the right balance between the abstract en realistic elements in which the details in the paintings are meant to be nearly tangible.
